Better together

Two kids, two friends and too much of missing each other at the point of believing that life couldn’t be as before. Being away and locked was the new normal, the new lifestyle. Until cientists, doctors and nurses openned the door to better times for all of us.
Being able to meet in person and hold hands is extraordinary in the present context, not only for the pandemic, but also for the current wars that separate people.
I made this GIF to make you smile and feel happy. Hope I can accomplish that.😁

Doggie’s dream

One day I opened Krita and asked my mother to suggest me colors and forms, that´s how I made the background of this work. The last color she chose was pink, but it didn´t go well with the rest… so I planned to use it for drawing a figure, the protagonist of a little story. I started seeing the background as a mix of different foods. That triggered the memory of a friend dog I know who, like almost everyone, loves chicken and stands up in two legs to reach the food on the table. Playing with filters I made a funny animation that could only be possible in a world of dreams. Maybe my friend had already have this kind of dream (or nightmare), who knows?

Un día abrí Krita y le pedí a mi mamá que me sugiriera colores y formas, así es como hice el fondo de este trabajo. El último color que eligió fue rosa, pero no iba bien con el resto… así que planeé usarlo para dibujar una figura, la protagonista de una pequeña historia. Empecé a ver el fondo como una mezcla de distintas comidas. Eso me despertó el recuerdo de una perrita amiga que, como casi todos, ama el pollo y se para en dos patas para alcanzar la comida que está sobre la mesa. Jugando con filtros, hice una extraña y graciosa animación que sólo sería posible en un mundo de sueños. Tal vez mi amiga ya haya tenido este tipo de sueño (o pesadilla), ¿quién sabe?

Worrying cycle

Being under stress appears to be the most normal way of living.
When doctors say that we have to lower down stress it seems to be unachievable ‘cause the more we order our heads to stay calm, the less we stop intrusive thoughts… and frustration comes along.
But not everything is lost. When we understand that our worries won’t be solved by thinking without a break, and start to see what’s okay beyond our problems, everything goes smoother.
At first, we might find ourselves in a loop, where tranquility backs away in a matter of seconds leaving us in the starting point. But let´s always remember that practice makes perfect and that everything passes.

/ Estar estresado aparenta ser la manera más normal de vivir.
Cuando los doctores nos dicen que debemos bajar el estrés, parece imposible porque cuanto más le ordenamos a nuestras cabezas que mantengan la calma, menos paramos los pensamientos intrusivos… y a eso se le suma la frustración.
Pero no todo está perdido. Cuando entendemos que nuestras preocupaciones no se resolverán pensando sin descanso, y comenzamos a ver lo que esta bien más allá de nuestros problemas, todo fluye mejor.
Al principio podemos encontrarnos en un loop donde la tranquilidad se retira en cuestión de segundos dejándonos en el punto inicial. Pero recordemos siempre que la práctica hace al maestro y que todo pasa.

Finding fields

This NFT was very pleasant to do and somehow is refreshing. As it happenned to many people around the world during the pandemic, I got too much used to stay home. But right away after getting vaccinated with the third dose, I started having the urge to go out, and more important, to be in places with trees, birds, grass, lakes, and so on. I know this animation was inspired by that feeling.

/ Este NFT fue muy agradable de hacer y de alguna manera es refrescante. Como le ocurrió a mucha gente alrededor del mundo durante la pandemia, me acostumbré demasiado a quedarme en casa. Pero apenas recibí la tercera dosis de la vacuna, me surgió la imperiosa necesidad de salir, y más importante, de estar en lugares que tuvieran árboles, pájaros, pasto y demás. Sé que esta animación se inspiró en ese sentimiento.

Sometimes we need to get in touch with nature and step back in order to see the big picture and find ourselves and what sorrounds us from another point of view.
/ A veces necesitamos entrar en contacto con la naturaleza y dar un paso atrás para poder ver el panorama completo y encontrarnos a nosotros mismos y a lo que nos rodea desde otro punto de vista.

I made this misterious and somber image’s background while testing the program Krita, which I higly recommend. That base inspired me to create a counterpart that clashed with it. Suddenly, I was drawing a mother and her son with all the love they could feel. While I was working on this piece, I was hearing the news about the tension between Russia and Ucraine. In that moment, I didn´t imagine a war was about to start, but I did feel that the peace of this world is constantly threatenned by plagues, wars, natural disasters, and there are times like these when everything seems to happen alltoghether, without a break. Maybe, I needed to see something comforting, in oposition to so many bad news.

/ Hice el fondo misterioso y sombrío de esta imagen cuando estaba probando el programa Krita, que recomiendo mucho. Esa base me inspiró a hacer una contraparte que chocara. De pronto, estaba dibujando a una madre y su hijo con todo el amor del mundo. Mientras trabajaba en esta pieza, se escuchaban las noticias sobre las tensiones entre Rusia y Ucrania. En ese momento no imaginé que iba a haber una guerra, pero sí sentí que la paz de este mundo está constantemente amenazada por pestes, guerras, desastres climáticos y hay épocas como esta en las que todo parece ocurrir junto, sin descanso. Tal vez, necesitaba ver algo reconfortante frente a tantas malas noticias.

Yesterday I gave away for free the first NFT I did for Teia platform and the 200 available editions where all quickly taken.

This NFT is about a cute duck I saw in a lake near home and the calmness of the water, which little waves didn’t seem to interrupt its stillness.
